This week was kind of crazy and long. Last Monday the other missionaries of the district came here to Puertollano and we hiked to the top of our mountain and when we got to the top we had our last
district meeting together which was sad. Then we went and ate and said our last goodbye and they left. I didn't know how many goodbyes there was on the mission but there is a lot and I'm just starting to get
used to it.
Then early Tuesday morning I got on a train to Málaga which I was really excited to go pick up my new companion. We got to the mission home and had our trainers training which was given by the AP who was going home the next day and it was super awesome and inspirational. Then we got assigned our companions. There was only a group of three missionaries so there wasn't a whole lot of us there but it was good. My new companion is Elder Smithson and he is 18 from Florida. He is a really good guy, kinda derpy, but really awesome and works hard. Then we stayed the night there and got on a train the next morning to come back. When we got back he put his stuff down and got straight to work :)
Then on Thursday we had a apartment check to see if everything was going well. And we passed! It's a miracle and I don't know how. But one thing was that we needed a new fire extinguisher so we went down with the senior couple to there car and I realized I had forgotten the keys in the apartment... And the phone.. I will say it was the first time I have done that. So lucky we were with them and could use there phone to call some people and figure out the number of our landlord and called her and she said a locksmith would be there in 4 hours...... So the senior couple took us to ice cream :) (which made it all worth it) then we just sat outside our apartment for 3 hours waiting for the guy to come. I felt bad how productive his second day was.
My new companion has a pedometer and he has been tracking how far we walk and on the average day here we walk 11 miles!! Crazy! And Saturday we walked 18! It's so crazy but I guess I'm used to it now.
But I was so dead after Saterday. Also training a new missionary is a really eye opening experience because he knows nothing and I can train him anyway I wanted to. It just opens my eyes to how important of a calling this is because you mold them to what kind of missionary they will be which eventually leads to what kind of person they will be.
