Hello everyone! This week was amazing it was my last week of my training so I am officially out of training and a real missionary! My last day of training we were on exchanges with Elder McCounghy again so that we super fun and I always learn so much from him. We also burned my training book on the roof because I finally don't have to use it anymore :)
During the Mission wide conference in Sevilla Elder Dykes of the 70 talked a lot about working around a center of strength (the church) and then branch out from there in our areas and promised us many blessings if we do this but we don't have a Church in our area so I thought the center of strength would be our apartment building.
So I wanted to knock the doors of the building that we live in but Elder Fisher has always said no I don't know why so when Elder McCounghy was here we knocked our building and we didn't even have time to get through the whole thing because first door we knocked they we leaving but set up a time for us to come by a different day then another family let us in and the wife is from Colombia and the husband from Spain and they were super nice and said that they have always wanted to see what our church was about because they always saw us young kids going in and out and are excited to read the Book of Mormon then the next was a couple in there 60s with older kids and they let us in and were also very interested so we only got threw one floor of the building because everyone was interested so we will have to finish knocking another day.
I have transfer news! Elder Fisher is going to San Fernando to be companions with Elder Whipple!! I cant believe that my trainer is leaving so sad :( but it is so crazy that he is going to be companions with my best friend from the MTC! Also my new companion is going to be Elder Simon (pronouns with a Spanish accent) yes that means that he is native so that means that its going to be a long transfer with Spanish from here on out..... scary... He is from Argentina which is really cool because he will have a cool accent that I might pick up on haha he doesn't know any English I have heard and it is also his last transfer of the mission so that means that he is going home in 6 weeks.
We have been saying a lot of goodbyes because Elder Fisher is leaving and it makes me really sad. This Sunday he gave a farewell talk in church and bore a really powerful testimony about Joseph Smith and read the hymn Joseph Smiths First Prayer #26 and had everyone follow along with the word as he played a concert version of it on the piano and the spirit was very strong and bore powerful testimony to everyone in church that day of the truthfulness of Josephs story. I looked around as he was playing and there were a lot of tears.
Also I highly recommend that you all watch the movie Gods Army. It is a true movie about missionaries and it is really amazing :)
The pictures are me burning my training book and me with Elder Fishers recent convert who was baptized right before I got here named Joseph I love him so much because he had to sacrifice so much to join the church and he loves it. He just received the priesthood and that was very exciting and I love him because he doesn't have much money but he invites us over to eat once a week :)
