Hello everyone! Sorry it has been a week since my last email but I have traveled to Malaga and now in in the field! Saying goodbye to everyone in the MTC was super sad! I will miss the teachers and all of the missionaries there so much :( But we had a really good last couple of days preparing us for the field. We had an amazing fast and testimony meeting on Sunday which was an awesome way to end an amazing MTC experience.
We split up into missions and us Malaga kids got on a bullet train Monday morning at 5:00am and we headed down. When we got there President and his wife were waiting there for us and he told us who was going to be staying close and who was going to be traveling to their first area and I was going to be traveling. Then we got to the chapel right there and there was a bunch of missionaries there that were going home the next day and they each took one of us out to teach a lesson. Then we had an orientation and lunch. After that the missionaries staying close got their areas and trainers and left. It was sad to say goodbye to them but I will see them soon hopefully. Then we all got in cars and drove to the highest point in Malaga on top of this beautiful mountain with an amazing view and made goals for our mission. Then we went to the mission home which is so beautiful and we all got our new companions and our areas. We then had some orientations and devotionals. We were staying the night and leaving in the morning.
My trainer is Elder Benjamin Fisher and he is from Pocatello Idaho and is a really good trainer (so far) he is cousins with the Chattertons so that is kind of funny. And my first area is Alicante which is a beautiful city on the beach and it is all the way down the coast on the mission border so it is pretty far out there. The next morning we all got on a bus and started traveling more. Companionships slowly were getting off at each stop until it was just me and Elder Fisher. It took 10 hours to get here!!
The city here is amazing and there are palm trees everywhere and the beach is so beautiful. The problem is when I got here there wasn’t really any investigators so we have been doing a lot of finding lately and we have a few promising people to start teaching but it has been mainly tracting. We have two awesome recent converts though one is gay and the other is an ex Jehovah witness but they are super cool and love to feed us. I met the ward and I love them all. They like me and they tell me to say stuff in Spanish that I say when I probably shouldn’t but they all laugh. But they are all awesome and I’m excited to serve and get to know them. I will be in this area probably until July and it is already in the 70s everyday so I am not looking forward to 110 like it gets in the summer!! Crazy. At least there is a nice sea breeze all the time through the palm trees. I’m serving in paradise
Oh and here is my address! Please send me letters and I promise I will send one back ASAP! :)
